Outline

The BSB20107 Certificate II in Business is an introductory course to give you basic knowledge in the Business sector. Topics may include producing simple documents, maintaining financial records and using business technology. By completing this course, you will gain the basic knowledge in the Business field which allows you to further develop your business career path.

This certificate provides training in essential skills for entry into the workforce, and specialist skills for individuals performing administrative roles within the workplace. Job roles include:

Entry requirements:

Nil. It is recommended that students have successfully complete Year 10 studies and have basic adult literacy and numeracy skills. All students wishing to enrol will be required to undertake a Language Literacy and Numeracy assessment.
Pathways
Preferred pathways for candidates considering this qualification include BSB10107 Certificate 1 in Business or other relevant qualification/s, or candidates with vocational experience assisting in a range of work settings without a formal business qualification. All candidates who undertake the Certificate II in Business are provided with advice on employment and training options, including enrolling into Certificate III in Business.

Training and Assessment

Training is conducted via class-room based face-to-face delivery in a simulated business environment. To be deemed competent in each unit of study in this course and be awarded the qualification, students must complete all assessments satisfactorily. Some of these will be undertaken in class, others you will need to complete outside of class hours. In this course, assessment is completed by written question and answers, practical demonstration in a simulated work environment, and completion of a workplace-based projects and tasks.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Green Business Audit & Training recognises the skills and knowledge you have gained
through formal and informal education and training, and work or life experience. Students wishing to apply for RPL must do so upon enrolment and must apply for RPL via our RPL Application Kit for this course, available from our offices. Students must first enrol in the course. Language Literacy and Numeracy

To ensure that you have an adequate language literacy and numeracy levels to complete this qualification, we will conduct an LLN review as part of the pre-enrolment process.

BSBOHS201A Participate in OHS processes: 20 hours

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to participate in workplace occupational health and safety (OHS) processes workers own health and safety, and that of others

Elective Units: 11 units

BSBCMM201A Communicate in workplace: 40 hours

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to communicate in the workplace. It includes gathering, conveying and receiving information together with completing routine written correspondence

BSBCUS201B Deliver a service to customers: 40 Hours

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to deliver all aspects of customer service at an introductory level. It includes creating a relationship with customers, identifying their needs, delivering services or products and processing customer feedback.
BSBIND201A Work effectively in a business environment: 30 hours

This unit describe the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to work effectively within a commercial or business environment. It includes identifying the rights and responsibilities of employees and employers and conducting business in accordance with the organisational goals, values and standards.

BSBINM201A Process and maintain workplace information: 30 hours

this unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to collect, process, store and maintain workplace information and systems. It also includes the maintenance of filing and records systems

BSBITU201A Produce simple word processed documents: 60 hours

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to correctly operate word processing applications in the production of workplace documents

BSBITU202A Create and use spreadsheets: 30 hours

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to create and use spreadsheets and charts through the use of spreadsheets software.

BSBINM202A Handle Mail: 15 hours

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to receive and distribute incoming mail, and to collect and dispatch outgoing mail.

BSBSUS201A Participate in environmentally sustainable work practices: 20 hrs

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to effectively measure current resource use and to carry out improvements including reducing the negative environmental impact of work practices.

BSBWOR202A Organise and complete daily work activities: 20 hours

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to organise and complete work activities, and to obtain feedback on work performance.

BSBWOR203B Work effectively with others : 15 hours

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to work in a group environment promoting team commitment and cooperations, supporting team members and dealing effectively with issues, problems and conflict.

BSBWOR204A Use business technology: 20 hours

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to select, ust and maintain a range of business technology. This technology includes the effective use of computer software to organise information and data.
